It is the policy of Information Technology Services (ITS) to ensure compliance with Title VI of the Civil Rights Act of 1964; 49 C.F.R. Part 26. Title VI requires that "No person in the United States shall, on the ground of race, color or national origin, be excluded from participation in, be denied the benefits of, or be subjected to discrimination under any program or activity receiving federal financial assistance." Title VI covers all agencies receiving federal funds. Some examples include: student aid, employee training, grants, loans, tax incentives, and technical assistance. Title VI applies to discrimination throughout this agency, not just actions involving federally assisted programs.
It shall be against the policy of the Metropolitan Government to discriminate against an individual based upon that person's race, color, or national origin.
