Pearl Amanfu is Metro Nashville's Program Director of Digital Learning and Advancement. She leads the Metro Digital SkillsLink initiative and helps guide the city's plan to make sure everyone can use technology with confidence and prepare for the jobs of today and tomorrow. She works with local nonprofits, schools, and community groups to improve access to devices, build digital skills, and ensure residents receive the support they need in a fast-changing digital world.
Pearl was Metro's first Digital Inclusion Officer, helping create Nashville's long-term vision for digital equity. She led the city's first Digital Equity Study with partners at Vanderbilt University and the Digital Inclusion and Access Taskforce during the COVID-19 pandemic. This project was nominated for Initiative of the Year by the Nashville Technology Council in 2021. In 2022, Pearl was nominated for Advocate of the Year by the Nashville Technology Council. Her leadership also helped Metro earn national recognition as a Visionary Digital Inclusion Trailblazer in 2023, 2024, and 2025—an award from the National Digital Inclusion Alliance that celebrates cities that do pioneering work to bring digital opportunity to all residents.
Pearl is a proud graduate of Metro Nashville Public Schools. She earned a Bachelor of Science in Human and Organizational Development and a Master of Education in Community Development and Action, both from Vanderbilt University.
