Program Overview
The Life Skills Program is designed to equip participants with basic necessary skills to help them navigate life. This program will help strengthen participant's personal development, decision-making skills, and help them succeed in living independently.
The courses will be led by highly trained instructors who will provide an interactive learning environment appropriate for all levels of learning.
Those looking to enhance (improve) their quality of life and sustainability and who are Davidson County residents, are eligible to participate. As good stewards of Davidson County, Metro Social Services believes that all citizens of the metropolitan area should have access to basic life skills.
Upon course completion, graduates of this program should be able to:
- Employ practical skills needed for daily living
- Better navigate conflict management
- Learn to balance and budget money
- Better understand how to navigate the housing system and maintain a residence
- Better manage their time
- Heal from trauma and overcome emotional and mental barriers that negatively impact quality of life
- Develop and enhance parenting skills
Eligibility Requirements
- At least 18 years old
- Davidson County resident
- Have a willingness and desire to be better
