The Nashville Department of Waste Services today announced an upcoming temporary closure on September 8 of the East Convenience Center, located at 943 Richard G. Adams Drive, to undergo site improvements. The center is expected to reopen in approximately eight weeks.
The project upgrade is designed to provide smoother traffic flow and create a more customer-friendly experience at the center. A key part of the project includes the construction of a new main entrance building, which will significantly enhance safety for Waste Services staff and provide a more welcoming visit for customers. Additionally, new safety railings will be installed around drop-off points, and updated road striping will be added for smoother vehicle movement around the location.
Since opening in 2001, the East Convenience Center has not undergone a substantial overhaul. This project will improve its infrastructure and ensure a more durable and long-lasting facility.
"We recognize the East Center’s temporary closure is an inconvenience for residents and sincerely appreciate your patience as we work to enhance safety and services," said Nashville Department of Waste Services Director Tracey Thurman. "These planned improvements are part of our commitment to upgrading the overall customer experience and meeting the expanded needs of our growing city."
