Waste Generator Fees
Pursuant to the Metropolitan Code 10.20.360, everyone who collects, hauls, receives, processes, or disposes of waste in or from Davidson County must pay the below solid waste generator fees:
- $1/cubic yard of construction/demolition waste
- $6/ton of all other solid waste
Collectors and haulers must submit monthly reports to the Nashville Department of Waste Services reporting their tonnage or cubic yardage of waste using the Collector/Hauler Monthly Report Form.
Generator fees are paid to Metro by those who operate the collection sites (such as transfer stations, landfills, or processing locations), but all those who collect, haul, receive, process, or dispose of waste are responsible for ensuring the fees are paid.
Enforcement
Failure to be properly permitted or compliant in paying fees would result in fines of $50 per day for each non-permitted vehicle, each non-permitted container, and each fee unpaid.
