
Trash is collected weekly in your brown curbside cart and must be in a bag. Visit our cart placement guidelines for additional cart rules.
Banned Materials
The following items are not allowed in your trash cart:
Yard Waste
Brush, leaves, and grass clippings can be placed at the curb for Brush Collection.
Cardboard
Cardboard can be placed in a curbside recycling cart or taken to a drop-off recycling site.
Construction Debris
Residential construction waste must be collected by a private hauler or contractor. Small amounts of Do-It-Yourself construction waste can be taken to the Omohundro Convenience Center, per center guidelines.
Electronic Waste
Electronic waste can be recycled through our electronics drop-off recycling collection program.
Paint and Chemicals
Containers with liquids must be emptied before putting the container in the trash.
- Latex or water-based paints and stains: Dry out the liquid by leaving off the lid or using cat litter.
- Chemicals: Bring your household hazardous waste materials such as old gasoline, bleach, and oil-based paints and stains to one of two Household Hazardous Waste drop-off sites to properly dispose of chemicals at no charge.
