All-Access Corridors are Nashville’s most heavily traveled roadways that will receive a complete upgrade through Choose How You Move. Each corridor integrates high‑frequency bus service with strategically located dedicated transit lanes, smarter signals, and safety and accessibility improvements. The result? Faster, more reliable transit and safer streets for everyone – whether they’re walking, rolling, biking, driving, or riding the bus.
What Makes a Corridor “All‑Access”
All‑Access Corridors focus on Nashville’s busiest pikes and roadways, which carry the majority of the city’s transit ridership. By concentrating investment where demand is highest, these projects improve reliability throughout the day, reduce the impacts of traffic on transit, and expand access to jobs, education, healthcare, and daily destinations. The result is a safer, more convenient, and more affordable transportation network—whether you drive, ride transit, walk, roll, or bike.
- Transit first, for everyone: High‑frequency bus service (targeting “walk‑up” service every 15 minutes or better) supported by transit‑only lanes where feasible to keep buses moving quickly and reliably
- Upgrades for all users: New and improved sidewalks, safer crossings, bikeway connections, and corridor‑wide safety enhancements
- Smart operations: Modernized signals and transit signal priority to reduce delay and improve travel time consistency
- Right‑sized delivery: Improvements tailored to each segment, from resurfacing and restriping to full reconstruction with dedicated space for high‑capacity transit, based on engineering analysis and community input
What’s Included:
- Dedicated or priority lanes for transit where appropriate
- Increased service frequency and expanded hours
- Enhanced stops and stations
- Corridor‑wide pedestrian and bicycle improvements
- Signal upgrades and transit signal priority
- Park‑and‑ride and transit center investments where warranted
Corridor Planning Beginning in 2026
Project development for the Nolensville Pike and Gallatin Pike/Main Street All‑Access Corridors begins in 2026, including planning, design, engineering, and phased implementation. This work will define concepts for transit lanes, station locations, safety upgrades, and Complete Street improvements, informed by technical analysis and community engagement. In parallel, planning and design will advance for the West End Avenue Curbside Bus Lane Pilot, testing measures to improve bus speed and reliability. For Gallatin Pike/Main Street, All-Access Corridor development will build on community input, recommendations, and findings from the Gallatin/Main Vision Zero Project.
Opportunities for Partners and Vendors
Metro will procure professional services to support planning, design, engineering, engagement, and implementation of All‑Access Corridors. Firms interested in business opportunities on the Nolensville Pike corridor should monitor WeGo Public Transit’s website for current and upcoming solicitations and guidance on how to bid. Additional procurement information related to Gallatin/Main and other corridors will be posted as projects advance.
