Registration
A business must be registered in iSupplier before working with Metro. This includes subcontractors, who must be registered before they are included in a prime contractor's offer.
All procurement activity--including submission of offers--happens via iSupplier. The information a business inputs when registering determines what notifications they will receive about opportunities to work with Metro.
Each business is responsible for regularly checking and updating their own iSupplier profile. This ensures that they receive both accurate and timely information.

Certification - Minority, Women, LGBT, and Veteran Owned Businesses
During iSupplier registration, a business may choose to self-identify as minority-owned (MBE), woman-owned (WBE), LGBT owned (LGBTBE), or service disabled veteran owned (SDV) if that business has obtained certification as such through a recognized agency.
A business that self-identifies must provide proof of current certification via email (bao@nashville.gov). Generally, this will be in the form of a certificate provided to the business by their certifying agency.
For black and brown owned businesses, Metro recognizes these MBE certifications:
For woman owned businesses, Metro recognizes these WBE certifications:
For LGBT owned businesses, Metro recognizes this LGBTBE certification:
National LGBT Chamber of Commerce
For service disabled veteran owned businesses, Metro recognizes this SDV certification:
Governor's Office of Business Diversity
Certification as a minority-owned or woman-owned business may allow a firm to participate in the equal business opportunity program.

Small Business Approval

- Letter of affirmation on company letter head signed by the principal.
- Two (2) most recent business tax returns.

For the letter of affirmation, please review the eligibility standards and include the appropriate industry classification in the designated space.
