Our "Why"
In 2023, Nashville joined four other U.S. cities in the Breaking Barriers to Business cohort! This cohort is a multiyear initiative designed to strengthen small businesses and open career pathways for historically marginalized communities across the country. Our office is partnering with Nashville’s business community to address systemic barriers that impact the business ownership journey of entrepreneurs. By participating in this cohort and collaborating on a joint workplan with leaders in the business community, our office aims to tackle the historic and systemic harms that have perpetuated the widening wealth gap among Americans.
