The Metro Nashville Department of Emergency Communications (DEC) is proud to announce the promotion of Kristin Mullen to Assistant Director of Support Services.
Kristin began her career with DEC in May 2004 and has spent more than 20 years serving the residents of Metro Nashville through her dedication to public safety communications. Over the years, she has built a reputation as a steady leader, a strong mentor, and a tireless advocate for training and professional growth.
She was promoted to Emergency Communications Supervisor in 2014, followed by a promotion to Emergency Communications Manager in 2020. In each role, Kristin took on increasing responsibility while remaining deeply committed to supporting staff and strengthening department operations.
Kristin completed the Association of Public-Safety Communications Officials' (APCO) rigorous Certified Public Safety Executive (CPE) program in July of 2024.
Most recently, Kristin served as DEC's Training Manager, where her leadership played a key role in the department earning APCO Agency Training Program accreditation. This achievement reflects her commitment to high standards, continuous improvement, and ensuring call takers and dispatchers are well prepared to serve Nashvillians.
As Assistant Director of Support Services, Kristin will continue to focus on strengthening the systems and people that support DEC's mission every day.
