The Mayor’s New Americans Advisory Council is a group of leaders who represent new citizens, immigrants, and refugee communities. They give advice and guidance to the Mayor’s Office.
Advisory Council Members will:
- Represent new citizen, immigrant, and refugee communities or agencies that serve those communities.
- Amplify the voices of the new citizen, immigrant, and refugee communities.
- Identify common issues of interest in the new citizen, immigrant, and refugee communities.
- Provide the Mayor’s Office with counsel and guidance on possible solutions to new citizen, immigrant, and refugee issues.
- Be respectful of all races, ethnicities, religions, beliefs, and cultural backgrounds.
How to Get Involved
This council is open to all residents of Davidson County. Anyone who wants to join must fill out an application during the open period. Applications are currently closed. Please check back in the Summer of 2027 for new applications.
Advisory Council Members must attend all four 2026-2027 meetings.
