With Let's Color Nashville, a team of artists, community organizations, and Mayor Freddie O'Connell's Office are teaming up to bring light and inspiration to one of Nashville's most historic corridors.
"Community is at the heart of Jefferson Street, and we're excited to collaborate with the community, Creative Girls Rock®, and AkzoNobel to create vibrant art for all of us to enjoy that celebrates the sights, sounds, and people of Jefferson Street," said Mayor O'Connell. "When complete, the Let's Color Jefferson Street sidewalk mural will provide a vibrant greeting to all who live, work, and travel here."
The community is invited to join the Mayor's Office, Creative Girls Rock® and AkzoNobel on Saturday, April 26 as they transform the sidewalks at the intersection of Jefferson Street and Rosa Parks Boulevard into a creative display of joy and color. This initiative is the latest in the Nashville Department of Transportation's Tactical Urbanism Program.
AkzoNobel will provide the paint and Creative Girls Rock will provide the know-how while Nashvillians bring the colorful mural to life along the western side of the intersection at Jefferson Street at Rosa Parks Boulevard. Families are welcome, and there will be chalk for children to create and add their own artwork.
Let's Color Jefferson Street's artwork was designed by Elisheba Mrozik.
Time/Date: The community is invited to begin arriving at 12:30 p.m. on Saturday, April 26. Group painting will begin at 1:15 p.m., and the road will reopen by 5:30 p.m.

From AkzoNobel
"At AkzoNobel, our Let's Color projects are all about adding vibrancy to communities and transforming lives through the power of paint. With 3,059 projects completed globally, we're excited to bring this initiative back to Nashville for the third time—this time with an extra special touch. For the first time in a Let's Color project, we'll be donating our own International Protective Coatings to paint the mural, ensuring a high-quality transformation of this historic area as we paint a brighter future together.
"Jefferson Street, once a hub for legendary performers like Jimi Hendrix and Duke Ellington, is the perfect place for our Nashville employees to come together and celebrate its rich history while giving back to our local community.
"We are proud to partner with Mayor O'Connell, Creative Girls Rock® and our customer Hoover Paint to sponsor this project that supports Nashville's Tactical Urbanism Initiative, which is focused on enhancing public spaces and safety through impactful design. At AkzoNobel, we believe in the power of partnerships to make a lasting difference, and we look forward to future opportunities to add color to the city of Nashville."
