As Director, Communications, Lauren Galippo Sutton oversees the mayor’s digital strategy across multiple platforms and cross-departmental initiatives. She began her career in journalism, serving as producer for Norah O’Donnell at CBS News in New York City. During her time at CBS, she contributed to national news coverage for Hurricane Harvey, the 2016 presidential election, and President Barack Obama’s second term, including overseas in South Korea for an interview with President Moon Jae-in.
Before joining the Mayor’s Office, Lauren served as Vice President of Print at entertainment marketing agency Size Matters in Los Angeles, where she helped lead campaigns for major streaming platforms including Netflix, Apple, and Hulu.
Lauren earned a B.Sc. in Broadcast Journalism from Texas Christian University. She won a national News & Documentary Emmy Award in 2018 for Outstanding Investigative Report in a Newscast (U.S. Air Force Academy Sexual Assault). She was also nominated for Outstanding Coverage of a Breaking News Story in a Newscast (Las Vegas Massacre). In 2021, she was part of the team whose work on CBS’s Blood & Treasure and Quibi’s NightGowns campaigns received Bronze Clio Entertainment Awards.
