Administered by the Metropolitan Action Commission (MAC)
Beginning April 27, 2026, the Metropolitan Action Commission will reopen the Emergency Winter Assistance Program (EWHAP) to Davidson County residents who are still recovering from the financial hardships caused by Winter Storm Fern (2026).
EWHAP is specifically for Davidson County residents impacted by Winter Storm Fern during the declared State of Emergency by Mayor Freddie O'Connell beginning January 26, 2026.
In addition to rental and mortgage assistance, EWHAP now also covers utility payments, including natural gas, electricity, and water. Applicants who were previously approved for housing assistance through EWHAP are now eligible to receive help with their utility expenses.
In February, The Tennessee Titans, through their Home Field Advantage Catalyst Fund, donated $250,000 to the Metropolitan Action Commission (MAC) to help launch EWHAP. Following the initial support, the City of Nashville reallocated $931,000 in American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA) funds to MAC, which enabled the agency to continue serving residents experiencing storm related housing hardships as long as funding is available. This program provides critical support to residents.
