Metro Action and Martha O'Bryan along with 8 other agencies were selected based on work advancing the social and economic mobility of children and families with low incomes.
Metro Action's approach to empowering families is from a Whole Family/2GEN perspective which builds a system of support around adults and their children addressing the root causes of poverty
Metro Action received additional funding to help more households cover the cost of utility payments. The agency estimates that the funding will help up to 30,000 Davidson County residents.

The Metropolitan Action Commission partners with families in poverty using a Whole Family/2Gen Approach. This approach meets the needs of both the child and the adult in their lives building a system of care around the entire family. Our programs and services break the cycle of poverty by addressing the root causes by increasing family economic security, educational success, and health and well-being from one generation to the next.
