Episode Description
When we think about how to live sustainably, we may not consider what we are drinking at an event or a party with loved ones. But, like food, the ingredients, processes, and systems used to craft our beverages can be made more sustainable with a little care and thought. Join us for a discussion with Mark Valencia, Environmental Scientist with the Tennessee Department of Environment and Conservation and manager of the Tennessee Sustainable Spirits program, and Rhonda Cammon, founder and CEO of Perfectly Cordial and recent alum of Vanderbilt's Climate Innovation Accelerator program. We will discuss best practices for reducing environmental impacts in the beverage and spirit industry and how community-based support programs can help these businesses become even more sustainable through creative problem solving. Spirits, cocktails, and mocktails are often shared in community, so let’s raise a glass to sustainability together and learn what it takes to make sustainable choices for our beverages enjoyed in Nashville.
