Local Shelters Provide Cold Weather Resources to Nashville's Unhoused Neighbors

The Metro Emergency Overflow Shelter will continue to operate 24 hours on the following days:

• Sunday, January 25, 2026
• Monday, January 26, 2026
• Tuesday, January 27, 2026
• Wednesday, January 28, 2026
• Thursday, January 29, 2026

Out of an abundance of caution, guests are encouraged to remain at the shelter once checked in as return bus transports may be limited and delayed due to weather conditions. Conditions are monitored daily during activation season to determine the need or exceptions to the overflow shelter activation criteria.

Additionally, Nashville, in partnership with the local primary shelters like Nashville Rescue Mission, Room In The Inn, Launch Pad, and Oasis, unite our efforts each year to provide life-saving shelter options to our unhoused Nashville neighbors. These primary shelters provide ongoing support year-round. Shelters are listed below in order of primary shelter options to overflow shelter options.

Nashville Rescue Mission

• Open to: Men, women, and children.
• Services: Warm beds, hot meals, showers, supportive services and recovery programs
• Pet Info: Kennels available for dogs

Locations

• Men's Campus – 639 Lafayette Street
• Women and Children's Campus – 1716 Rosa Parks Boulevard

Room In The Inn

• Open to: Adult men including individuals with barriers.
• Services: Showers, laundry, meals, education programs and supportive services.
• Restroom Access: Saturday and Sunday, 6 a.m. - 8 a.m.
• Day Center Hours: Monday – Friday, 6 a.m. – 4 p.m.
• Winter Shelter in Area Congregations: Adult men housed in area congregations November 1 – March 31.

Launch Pad Emergency Shelter

• Open to: Young adults between the ages of 18-24 in an LGBTQ+ affirming environment
• Services: Warm beds, meals, showers, and basic supplies
• Schedule: Open nightly from November 1 to March 31
• Locations include:
  • Donelson - Open from Sunday to Wednesday
  • Green Hills - Open from Thursday to Saturday
• Registration is required. Please register at Nashville Launch Pad. Additional details regarding hours, locations, and procedures will be provided to young adults via email after signing up through their website.

Metro Emergency Overflow Shelter

• Open to: All adults including individuals with barriers.
• Hours: Opens when temperatures are 32 degrees or below for 3 consecutive hours. Hours of operation are contingent upon demand and capacity during activation season from November 1-March 31
• Services: Hot meals, snacks, mats/cots
• Pet Info: Pets welcome; kennels provided
• Location: 3230 Brick Church Pike
• Transportation: WeGo Route 23B
