Details
Join us for an initial meeting to share details about the community engagement process for the proposed Jefferson Street Cap project. North Nashville community residents, business owners, and other stakeholders are invited to attend the in-person, outdoor event, to learn more about the project and the community-led discussion and design process through which they can ask questions and share feedback. This is the first of several informational events that will be held throughout the Jefferson Street area to engage and hear from constituents, collect feedback and ideas from community members.
The proposed $120 million Jefferson Street cap project would cover Interstate 40 (I-40) between Jefferson and Scovel Streets, from D.B. Todd Blvd. to 14th Ave. N. The project would recreate usable space in the community that was lost when I-40 was routed through North Nashville, and no existing homes or businesses would be removed as part of the cap construction. Through the community engagement process, participants will be asked to provide feedback on the project as well as communicate desires for how the space could be used.
Community members can learn more about the project and submit questions via phone at 512-580-8850, email, or the project website.
