The Traffic and Parking Section includes the parking management group and the traffic operations group responsible for ensuring safe and efficient transportation and parking products to Davidson County.
Park Smart Nashville
The Parking Management Division oversees parking resources that support access for residents, businesses, employees, and visitors throughout Nashville and Davidson County. Responsibilities include enforcing on-street parking regulations, installing and maintaining parking pay stations, managing Metro-owned parking garages, and processing parking permit requests.

Traffic Engineering
The NDOT Traffic Engineering team designs all pavement markings, signs and traffic signals in Davidson County, operates the traffic signal system, serves as staff to the Traffic and Parking Commission; oversees the Traffic Management Center; and conducts traffic studies and surveys.
