The Nashville Department of Transportation & Multimodal Infrastructure (NDOT)’s Transportation Demand Management program, Nashville Connector, will host its fourth annual Transportation Demand Management (TDM) summit on Friday, September 18, 2026, from 8 am to 3:45 pm.
Transportation Demand Management (TDM) is the use of policies and strategies to maximize the efficiency and sustainability of transportation systems leading to improved mobility.
Centered on the theme “Moving Beyond the Plan: Implementing TDM,” the full-day event will bring together transportation professionals, employers, developers, public officials, venue operators, advocates, and community partners to explore practical strategies for increasing mobility, expanding transportation choices, and reducing congestion throughout Nashville and the region.
The event will feature a robust lineup of speakers and sessions, including:
- A keynote address by Jonathan Hopkins, Association for Commuter Transportation Board Member, titled “The Power of Choice: Moving TDM from Strategy to Standard Practice”
- A transportation leadership discussion featuring Andrew Aiello, CEO of Cincinnati Metro; Steve Bland, CEO of WeGo Public Transit; and Sabrina Sussman, Chief Program Officer of Choose How You Move
- A panel exploring how development, destination access, customer communication, and community partnerships can turn transit availability into increased ridership
- A luncheon address from Mayor Freddie O’Connell
- A fireside chat with NDOT Director Ryan Lynch and Founding Principal and CEO of Fairpointe Planning, Tanisha J. Hall
- A session examining how Nashville and Atlanta plan for transportation access, public safety, and neighborhood impacts surrounding major venues and high-attendance events
Attendees may also participate in networking opportunities and a mobility showcase that highlights local and regional efforts to promote sustainable transportation.
