The application window will open in June 2026. Applications will be available online through OpenGov.
Taxi Industry

Acceptable Forms of Payment
The Transportation Licensing Commission accepts the following forms of payment:
- Credit Card (2.3% processing fee will apply)
- Cashier’s Check
- Pre-printed check with routing and account number, dollar amount, and signature. (Individual or business name and address must be pre-printed in the check’s upper left corner.)
Effective August 1, 2025, the Transportation Licensing Division will not accept cash payments.
Use of Credit Cards for Permit Fees
Based on Metropolitan Ordinance BL2008-218, a convenience fee will be added to all credit and debit card transactions processed by the Nashville Department of Transportation. The fee of 2.3% is assessed by the electronic processing company and no part of the fee goes to Metro.
