The traffic calming program primarily addresses local residential streets and may consider collector streets at the discretion of the NDOT NSTC program engineering team. Arterial streets (larger multi-lane streets) do not qualify for traffic calming. Check the Major and Collector Street Plan to determine the street classification. There is a chance that the street of concern has an active application for the NSTC program. Please check the Traffic Calming Tracker for an interactive map of all applications on file. Street of Concern Between and Program Understanding We understand that NDOT has many requests for traffic calming and limited resources requires NDOT to prioritize neighborhood streets based on data for the NSTC program. Because of this, we understand that making a request for traffic calming and completing this application may not result in immediate action in our neighborhood. We understand that on a selected street, proposed physical changes within the existing travel lane will require two-thirds approval from ballot respondents who are residence owners on the affected street. NDOT’s ballot process will be online. NDOT will send meeting and ballot notifications to the affected residence owners. We understand that our neighbors have the right to be informed of any public meetings held with NDOT officials in connection with this application for the NSTC program. We promise to listen to the concerns of all our neighbors and NDOT representatives when meeting or discussing traffic in our neighborhood. We understand that NDOT reserves the right to terminate a selected traffic calming application due to non-participation by the sponsoring applicants and/or residents during the planning and design stage of the project. We also understand this application can be withdrawn by the neighborhood organization or original applicants if the program is determined not to be a good fit for the neighborhood. We understand reapplication is not required after failing to be selected. We understand that NDOT is willing to reassess traffic conditions on requested streets if we choose to reapply after two years have passed since the initial application date. I have read and agree to the program understanding. Leave this field blank
