Project Description

Status: Acquiring Right-of-Way

This project will bridge multiple sidewalk gaps along Gallatin Pike, improving walkability and pedestrian safety by providing safe connections to neighborhoods and destinations for transportation and recreation.

The estimated construction start date is the first quarter of 2027.

Choose How You Move

Choose How You Move (CHYM) identified Gallatin Pike as an All-Access Corridor. The Choose How You Move planning and design will incorporate and tie into these Gallatin Pike improvements with the future implementation of the All-Access Corridor.

Vision Zero

This project is located on Gallatin Pike, which is one of the most dangerous streets for pedestrians, cyclists, and motorists alike, according to the Vision Zero Action Plan. The segment of Gallatin Pike from One Mile Parkway to Welworth St. is included in the Top 100 Priority Project list in the Vision Zero Implementation Plan.

WalknBike

This project is intended to bridge sidewalk gaps as part of the Priority Sidewalk Network identified in the 2022 WalknBike plan. Projects were prioritized by four critical needs safety, connectivity, access to transit, and health and equity on a scale of 100 points.

This project was included in the sidewalk workplan.

• 60% Design Meeting: Gallatin Pike Sidewalk Project Community Meeting on Monday, December 11, 2023 from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m.
• 30% Design Meeting: Gallatin Pike Sidewalk Project Community Meeting on Monday, July 17, 2023 at 5 p.m.
