The Nashville Department of Transportation and Multimodal Infrastructure (NDOT) will begin removing existing, non-functioning decorative lighting fixtures and installing new lighting fixtures in the arches of the the Korean Veterans Memorial Bridge this month. The lane closures to complete the work will expand the entire length of the bridge; work is expected to be complete by September 2025.
The project will require one vehicular travel lane and bicycle/pedestrian path of travel to be closed on the side of the road where work is actively happening. The opposite side of the road will be open for two-way bicycle/pedestrian traffic. On Monday, June 9 the eastbound lane closure will be in place to begin work. All westbound lanes (headed into downtown Nashville) will remain open. Then, work will be reversed based on the project schedule.
