Centers for Disease Control and Prevention defines Health in All Policies as “a collaborative approach that integrates and articulates health considerations into policymaking across sectors to improve the health of all communities and people.”
A community- where people are born, live, learn, work, play, and age, significantly impacts their health and wellbeing. A healthy community, depicted in the image to the right, provides access to recreation and open space, healthy foods, medical services, public transit and active transportation, quality affordable housing, economic opportunities, completeness of neighborhoods, safe neighborhoods and public areas, improved environmental quality, and green sustainable development and practices.
The information used in the development of this image was adapted from ChangeLab Solutions and the Monterey County Health Department.
