Homicide Unit detectives this evening charged a 16-year-old with the July 4 murder of Christopher L. Harris, 27, at Overlook Ridge Apartments, 2400 Buena Vista Pike.
Jaden Wright is alleged to be one of seven shooters who opened fire on Harris. The investigation continues to identify the others.
Wright was arrested early Wednesday morning at 6th Avenue North and Commerce Street. Officers approached him for being out past curfew. He was carrying a backpack that contained a nine millimeter semi-automatic pistol with an extended magazine. He tried to run away once officers discovered the gun, but was quickly apprehended.
At the time of Wright’s arrest, he was wearing the same clothing as that worn by one of the shooters at the apartment complex. Surveillance footage from the scene shows him to be one of the shooters.
