The Central Records Division is responsible for developing and maintaining required law enforcement records to conduct the official business of the department.
The Central Records Division is broken down into two sections, the Public Request Section and the Operations Support Section. The Public Request Section is over the Records Services Unit. The Operations Support Section is broken down into three units, the Data Entry Unit, NCIC/Teletype Unit, and the QAC Unit.

Obtaining Crash Reports
Crash reports can be purchased by mail request, at the records counter (refer to fee schedule), or by email at [email protected]
As of July 1, 2019, the Tennessee Legislature has amended the definition of personally identifying information of any person named in any motor vehicle accident report. Details are available within Tennessee Code Annotated § 10-7-504 (a) (31).
Requesting Records and Other Reports
To request Police records, reports, Body Worn Cameras and/or In-Car-Camera footage, download and complete the Open Records Request Policy and Form. Body Worn Cameras and In-Car Camera footage requested will be forwarded to the Police Department's Information Technology Division to be processed.
A Photo ID is required for all records requests.
Records may be requested by mail or hand carry it with payment our office location.

We do not accept or send requests by fax.
A reasonable fee shall be charged for the reproduction of requested files. Please be aware that there is no ATM on site.
