A Street Racing Initiative last night led to the arrest of a 19-year-old who fled from officers on I-40 West in an Audi A5 at a high rate of speed after he was seen drag racing. Brayden Hoffman, of South Nashville, was followed by MNPD Aviation after the attempted traffic stop and was seen traveling over 120 miles per hour, passing vehicles in the left shoulder of the roadway, in an attempt to evade officers.
Officers conducted a second traffic stop on Murfreesboro Pike at Pin Hook Road and Hoffman complied. A small amount of marijuana and a pipe were recovered from inside the Audi.
Hoffman was charged with drag racing, evading arrest, marijuana possession, and drug paraphernalia. He remains jailed this morning on $34,000 bond.
