Motorcycle riders across the region are invited to take part in this Saturday’s 32nd Annual Toy Parade, sponsored by Barrett Hobbs’ Scoreboard Bar & Grill, benefiting the Metropolitan Nashville Police Department’s Christmas Basket Program for families in need.
The event is open to all brands of motorcycles and will depart from First Horizon Park (Nashville Sounds Stadium) on Junior Gilliam Way at noon, enroute to the Scoreboard on Music Valley Drive. Registration begins at 9 a.m.
The Toy Parade is organized by volunteers from the local Harley Owners Group, the Scoreboard, and Cumberland Hospitality Group. Riders are asked to bring new unwrapped toys or make a cash donation. Everything donated will support the MNPD’s Christmas Basket Program, now in its 65th year, that provides bushel baskets of food and toys to hundreds of Nashville families in need on Christmas Eve morning.
“Our goal is to help fill the gaps and ensure families have food on the table and toys for their children on Christmas morning,” said Barrett Hobbs. “It’s our honor to ramp up support as the presenting sponsor of the 32nd Annual Toy Parade.”
“Middle Tennessee is blessed with caring and generous motorcycle riders,” said Harley Owners Group member Gary Bagwell, a longtime coordinator of the Toy Parade. “We are proud that this event has helped raise more than $1 million over the decades to help those who really need support during the holiday season.”
Saturday’s Toy Parade will travel on Rep John Lewis Way through Bicentennial Mall, to Rosa L. Parks Boulevard. It will turn east onto Broadway, turn south on 1st Avenue, continue over the Korean Veterans Memorial Bridge, and end at the Scoreboard for a post-parade party.
