Update: Anthony Rivera surrendered to South Precinct officers on June 27 and is charged with criminal homicide and the armed robbery of the Carniceria Dominguez store.
Persons in Nashville and the Middle Tennessee region are urged to be on the lookout for accused murderer Anthony Rivera, 19, who is wanted for this afternoon’s fatal shooting of his father Henry, 42, inside the family’s home on Anderson Road in Antioch. Rivera is believed to be traveling in a gray GMC Envoy. He is considered to be armed and dangerous. Anyone seeing him or the SUV is asked to immediately contact Crime Stoppers at 615-742-7463.
Officers were called to the home at 2:20 p.m. The investigation shows that Henry Rivera confronted his son over stealing money from his (Anthony’s) mother. During the argument, a witness reported that Anthony pulled a pistol and fired. Henry was hit in the neck and died shortly after arriving at Vanderbilt University Medical Center. South Precinct detectives have sworn out an arrest warrant charging Rivera with criminal homicide.
Rivera is also a suspect in Tuesday night’s armed robbery of Carniceria Dominguez store at 2569 Murfreesboro Pike.
