A continuing investigation into street drug sales downtown by Specialized Investigations Division undercover detectives with support from Central Precinct officers led to Wednesday night’s arrests of three men in connection with the sales of cocaine and cocaine laced with fentanyl.
Anthony Dowdy, 30, is charged with selling an undercover officer 1.5 grams of a white powder for $80 on 2nd Avenue South Wednesday night. The powder tested positive for cocaine. Dowdy’s bond is set at $12,500.
George H. Scott, 51, is charged with selling an undercover officer one gram of a white powder May 23 on Broadway which field tested positive for fentanyl. Scott was taken into custody on 4th Avenue South. His bond is set at $24,500.
Early Miles III, 45, is charged with facilitating the sale of $40 worth of a white powder to an undercover detective near Hall of Fame Park on May 13. The powder tested positive for fentanyl. Miles was taken into custody on Second Avenue South. Miles’ bond is set at $10,000.
Dangerous fentanyl has been found combined with street drugs including methamphetamine, heroin, cocaine and marijuana. A tiny amount of fentanyl can kill.
