The Nashville Police Department’s continuing undercover narcotics investigation downtown led to Friday night’s arrests of three men for selling substances in separate incidents that all tested positive for dangerous fentanyl.
An undercover detective encountered Anthony Tiller, 37, behind the Schermerhorn Center. Tiller sold the detective six pills that he claimed to be ecstasy.
The pills tested positive for both ecstasy and fentanyl. A plastic bag containing eight additional pills was taken from Tiller at the time of his arrest.
An undercover detective encountered Phillip Palmer, 63, behind the Schermerhorn Center near 3rd Avenue South. Palmer said he could get the detective cocaine and led him to the pedestrian bridge between 2nd and 3rd Avenues South. Palmer sold the detective two white rocks that tested positive for both cocaine and fentanyl.
An undercover detective encountered Di’Nerio Morton, 18, on Broadway near 4th Avenue South. Morton said he could get the detective cocaine. Morton left and met with the detective a short time later on 4th Avenue South and sold a baggie containing a white powder that tested positive for cocaine and fentanyl. Morton was arrested carrying a nine-millimeter pistol that had been reported stolen in Williamson County.
This investigation is being led by the Specialized Investigations Division with assistance from Central Precinct officers.
