Convicted drug and gun felon Tyson Oglesby’s attempt to avoid arrest for driving a stolen Cadillac Escalade early this morning didn’t work, and he’s now jailed in lieu of $100,000 bond on felony auto theft, gun, and evading arrest charges.
An MNPD sergeant spotted the Escalade, stolen out of Brentwood, driving recklessly on Dickerson Pike near Hancock Street. Oglesby refused to pull over and got onto I-24. He exited onto 4th Avenue and came to a stop in a parking lot. Undercover detectives blocked the Escalade. Oglesby got out and resisted detectives before he was taken into custody. A semi-automatic pistol was recovered from the driver side floorboard of the SUV.
Oglesby, 33, was given six and four year sentences for cocaine and gun convictions in 2020 and 2022.
