Accused murderer Quotize Carter, 38, is now being held in the Metro Jail in lieu of $350,000 bond in connection with last October’s fatal shooting of Amari Christian, 21, on Haynes Park Drive. Carter, who has been a fugitive since last year, was taken into custody this morning after a traffic stop by Mt. Juliet Police.
Christian was shot last October 5 and died eight days later. The investigation shows that two groups of females met on Haynes Park Drive to fight. After pepper spray was used in the altercation, they all began to leave. A Honda Accord, allegedly driven by Carter, then showed up. Shots were fired from the Honda toward young men at the scene. Christian was struck in the chest. Carter was also shot in what detectives believe was an exchange of gunfire. He showed up at a local hospital and was vague about how he was wounded. Detectives believe Carter’s relatives were involved in the fight on Haynes Park Drive.
Carter is a convicted felon. He was sentenced to a probated Community Corrections term of eight years in 2011 for aggravated robbery.
