Specialized Investigations detectives, with assistance from a police helicopter pilot, located and arrested fugitive KeSamuel Lusk Wednesday night after he fled from police in a car at a high rate of speed, ultimately crashing after running a red light on Lafayette Street at 2nd Avenue South. He fled on foot and threw a Glock semi-automatic pistol, equipped with a switch to make it fully automatic, toward a fence before being apprehended. For last night's actions, Lusk is charged with felon in possession of a gun, evading arrest, leaving the scene of an accident, and driving on a revoked license.
Officers had been working to apprehend Lusk, 26, since a February 5 domestic assault in which he threatened his ex-girlfriend. He allegedly pointed a gun with a red laser toward her home while her mother and three children were present. She reported that Lusk had physically and mentally abused her over a period of years. In that incident, he is charged with six counts of aggravated assault, unlawful gun possession, and domestic assault.
Additionally, after warrants had been issued for Lusk's arrest in the domestic assault case, North Precinct patrol officers spotted him in a vehicle on February 6 and attempted to stop him. He fled at a high rate of speed and eluded capture. He is charged with evading arrest and driving on a revoked license in this incident.
Lusk, who has Cheatham and Montgomery County convictions for aggravated burglary and felony theft of property, remains jailed on $192,000 bond.
