A Covington man was arrested Thursday after he made emailed death threats to the Davidson County Criminal Court Clerk because he was angry he was denied a job opportunity because he failed the background check. Aireiz M. Macklin, 32, was identified as the sender of the April 11 email that targeted the clerk and his office.
Macklin, who was wanted on two local, outstanding warrants for unrelated incidents, was convicted in Nashville of aggravated assault in 2017 and misdemeanor assault in 2018. He was taken into custody in Covington yesterday.
During an interview with MNPD detectives he admitted to sending the email, citing his anger for losing the opportunity due to his 2017 felony conviction.
Macklin was charged with harassment and retaliation for past action. He is currently jailed in lieu of $203,000 bond.
