Violent Crimes Division detectives last night arrested Jimma Yan, 26, after he was found with drugs and a handgun in a suspicious vehicle on Nesbitt Lane.
Detectives approached Yan as he was sitting inside a Kia with the rear window busted out and smelled of marijuana.
Yan was detained and during a search of the vehicle a backpack was recovered containing three pounds of marijuana, 22 marijuana vapes, fentanyl pills, ecstasy, Xanax, crack cocaine, a handgun with a loaded extended magazine, 2 digital scales and thousands of dollars in cash.
While detectives were walking Yan to the patrol car he ran off while handcuffed behind his back. He was located a short time later with assistance from Madison Precinct patrol officers as well as MNPD Aviation.
Yan was charged with resisting arrest, evading arrest, felony weapon possession, drug paraphernalia and six counts of drug possession. He remains jailed this morning on $105,500 bond.
