Specialized Investigations Division TITANS detectives on Thursday afternoon arrested Tongai Davidson, 21, who was wanted on outstanding domestic violence and vandalism warrants. Detectives stopped a Nissan Rogue on Gallatin Pike at Madison Street in which Davidson was a front seat passenger. He fled on foot but was quickly apprehended. Davidson was in possession of a handgun equipped with a Glock switch, making it fully automatic. Recovered from the SUV was a black backpack that Davidson admitted was his. Inside the backpack, detectives recovered a second handgun with an extended magazine, marijuana packaged for resale, a digital scale, and $104 cash.
In addition to domestic violence and vandalism, Davidson is charged with gun possession during the commission of a felony, unlawful possession of a prohibited weapon, felony drug possession, and evading arrest. He is being held on $78,000 bond.
Another passenger in the Rogue, Malachi Lawson, 20, was charged with felon in possession of a handgun. In 2023, he was convicted of robbery in Sumner County. Lawson remains jailed on $2,500 bond.
