Homicide Unit detectives are investigating Saturday’s early morning shooting of Rodrigo Aguilar, 60, at an apartment complex near his Bellevue Road residence.
Officers responded to the Slate Apartments, 7439 Highway 70 South, after a person saw Aguilar lying outside their apartment at 7:15 a.m. A review of surveillance video showed him returning home from work around 1:30 a.m. He was unloading his vehicle when he appeared to notice something off camera and soon after walked toward the area where he was shot. Aguilar died at the scene.
Officers responded to reports of shots fired in the area just after 2 a.m. but did not locate a crime scene or victim. Anyone with information about Aguilar’s murder is asked to call Nashville Crime Stoppers at 615-742-7463. Callers to Crime Stoppers can remain anonymous and qualify for a $5,000 reward for homicide and cold cases.
