North Precinct detectives are investigating Sunday morning’s fatal stabbing of Herbert Chatman, 53, outside his residence at 824 17th Avenue North.
Officers responded to the apartment building at 4 a.m. where they found Chatman lying in the grass near the front entrance. He was transported to Vanderbilt University Medical Center where he died.
According to witnesses, Chatman was involved in a verbal argument prior to the stabbing.
