Update: Investigation, led by Homicide Detective Arthur Hipp, resulted in a grand jury indictment charging Johnny Chandler, 33, with first degree murder, aggravated assault, reckless endangerment, and gun possession during the commission of a felony, for the February 20, 2023, fatal shooting of Keviana Perry. Chandler is alleged to have fatally shot Perry during a heated argument at a Clarksville Pike auto repair business. Specialized Investigations detectives took Chandler into custody last night.
Homicide detectives are pursuing leads in Monday’s 7:30 p.m. fatal shooting of Keviana Perry, 28, in the parking lot of an auto care business at 3837 Clarksville Pike.
Perry and others were engaged in a heated verbal argument when, according to witnesses, a man got out of a small silver sedan and fired toward Perry and a man inside a black SUV. There was an apparent exchange of gunfire during the ensuing melee. All involved in the argument, including several witnesses, fled the parking lot and business prior to police arrival. Perry was struck in the chest and died at the scene. It is unclear if she was the intended target. The motive also remains under investigation.
