Update: Homicide detectives are seeking the public's assistance in identifying the occupants of a 2014-2020 dark Chevrolet Impala with a specific Chevrolet Premier trim package involved in the December 14 murder of Gavin Thompson in a Zermatt Avenue apartment complex. Anyone with knowledge of the vehicle (photos attached) is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 615-742-7463. Callers can remain anonymous and qualify for up to a $5,000 cash reward in homicide cases.
Homicide Unit detectives are working active leads to identify the two gunmen involved in Sunday's 9:30 p.m. fatal shooting of Gavin Thompson, 34, in a Zermatt Avenue apartment complex. The preliminary investigation shows Thompson was approached by two masked men as he walked toward one of the townhomes.
Thompson attempted to return to his vehicle in the parking lot when the suspects chased him and physically assaulted him before shots were fired.
The suspects are seen on area surveillance footage entering the back seat of a black sedan as they fled.
