Homicide Unit detectives are working active leads in today’s noon shooting of Marcus Caruthers, 33, outside Kings Market on Jefferson Street. The preliminary investigation shows an argument took place inside the store between the male suspect and a female.
The argument continued in the parking lot where Caruthers intervened. The suspect produced the handgun and shot Caruthers.
Caruthers was transported to Vanderbilt University Medical Center where he died tonight.
