East Precinct detectives are working to identify the driver of a stolen 2020 black Nissan Altima who rammed a marked police car just before midnight in a condominium parking lot in the 200 block of Arrowhead Drive.
Officers responded after a citizen called to report a suspicious car parked in the lot. The driver, who was apparently asleep, awoke as officers approached and drove off in the Altima, striking the patrol car which was unoccupied. The police vehicle sustained substantial passenger side damage.
Around 5:15 a.m. Tuesday, officers located the unoccupied Altima at the Econo Lodge, 110 Maplewood Trace. The driver was not located.
Anyone who recognizes the suspect from the attached surveillance photos is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 615-742-7463. Callers to Crime Stoppers can remain anonymous and qualify for a cash reward.
The Nissan Altima was stolen on November 7 from Candlewood Suites, 270 Venture Circle after the owner reportedly dropped the keys on the ground after unloading the car.
