A verbal dispute outside a bar in the 1500 block of Demonbreun Street early today led to gunfire and the wounding of a 25-year-old man as he drove away in a silver Camaro.
The verbal dispute ended after a security guard threatened to call police. As one group left in the Camaro, a passenger in the car fired what were described as shots into the air at 12:55 a.m. A man standing on the sidewalk pulled his gun and started shooting at the Camaro. A short time later, the Camaro arrived at a local hospital and the 25-year-old man was assisted inside by friends for treatment of a wound to his leg. The friends then left in the car.
