Detectives are asking for the public's assistance in identifying four individuals, at least some of them armed with guns, who attacked individuals on the Seigenthaler Pedestrian Bridge at 1:15 a.m. Sunday.
The three victims and witnesses reported they were just standing on the bridge when the four assailants, who they did not know, approached and began threatening them. The victims reported having guns pointed at them before one of the four swung a rifle at them like a baseball bat. One of the victims was bloodied after being hit in the face by the rifle, while another was hit on the head, apparently by a pistol. A third victim reported being hit on the head by a suspect's fists.
The 23-year-old man hit in the face by the rifle was transported by ambulance to a hospital for treatment.
The assailants are believed to be in their late teens to early 20s. They fled the area in a gray Chrysler 300 sedan. Anyone recognizing them from the attached surveillance photos is asked to contact Nashville Crime Stoppers at 615-742-7463.
