Update: A 14-year-old is charged in Juvenile Court with aggravated robbery for the June 26 hold-up of the Vape Club on Stewarts Ferry Pike. He was identified after surveillance photos were televised and surrendered himself on Saturday.
Violent Crimes detectives are working to identify the gunman who Thursday at 11:35 a.m. robbed the Vape Club at 710A Stewarts Ferry Pike.
The clerk reported that the suspect initially entered the store, asked to smell one of the jars of product, and then tried to take the jar from his hands. The employee was able to retain possession of the merchandise, and the male fled. He returned a short time later, armed with a handgun, and demanded the jar. The clerk complied.
The suspect is a black man who appears to be in his teens. He is approximately 5'5" tall. Anyone who recognizes him from the attached surveillance photos is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 615-742-7463. Callers to Crime Stoppers can remain anonymous and qualify for a cash reward.
