Fatal traffic investigators today charged Cosme Pena, 23, with failure to yield the right of way resulting in death for Thursday night’s collision at the intersection of Nolensville Pike and Edmondson Pike that killed Ethelinda Wooten, 52.
Video evidence shows that Wooten had just begun to cross Nolensville Pike, in a crosswalk, when a 2007 GMC pickup truck, driven by Pena, turned right onto Nolensville Pike and struck her.
Pena left the scene but returned after hearing reports that someone had been struck at the intersection. He told officers that he thought he had hit the curb. Pena has been issued a state citation and must report for booking next month.
