Update: The 18-year-old driver killed in Thursday night’s crash on Anderson Road has been identified as Rodrigo Vences-Dealmonte.
The driver of an Infiniti M37 has died as a result of Thursday’s 9 p.m. crash on Anderson Road. The preliminary investigation indicates the Infiniti was observed street racing with another vehicle when officers attempted to stop their dangerous driving.
The Infiniti fled and officers did not pursue.
Both vehicles were involved in separate crashes a short time later.
The Infiniti ran off the left side of the roadway at a high rate of speed and struck a mailbox, parked van and light pole before coming to rest after colliding into a home.
The driver, tentatively identified as an 18-year-old, and his two 17-year-old passengers were not wearing seatbelts. The two passengers were transported to Vanderbilt University Medical Center, one with critical injuries.
The driver died at the scene. Efforts are underway to notify his family.
Toxicology testing will be conducted on the driver to determine whether impairment played a role in this fatal crash.
