Update: The driver killed in Sunday’s crash on I-40 West has been identified as Raymond Floyd, 58.
The driver of a Cadillac CTS has died following Sunday's 1:45 a.m. single-vehicle crash on I-40 West near the I-65 North split. The preliminary investigation indicates the Cadillac, for reasons unknown, left the roadway, collided with a light pole and then struck a concrete culvert.
The 58-year-old driver died at the scene. Efforts are underway to notify his family.
There was no evidence of impairment at the scene.
